Chicken Treat: Saima Beg
As I got down from the bus, I asked a person with
a Chicken Treat bag (Western Australian fast food
restaurant, mostly owned by Indians, I had to mention) in his hand, “where is the Mandurah city?” “where you standing, da”.

City Centre
So this was Mandurah city centre with the buildings I could count on my fingers but as I looked on the other side of the road, I understood the reason behind it being a tourist place.

Fishing: this is not the only spot
There was not a much of research work done before moving here. The single and core reason to select the city without knowing nothing was it’s proximity to Perth and a direct train line. Living here is like you are in the countryside and yet connected to the city. Anyways, Perth is not much different. As my friend once said, so you are moving to a ‘glorified village’ and I must say she was not wrong.
Mandurah’s quietness, picturesque foreshore and modern European looking buildings at Dolphin Quay are few things you can’t get away with at your first visit. After few weeks of living, I strolled down the city’s few buildings. In this small city (literally), I could find Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, Dolphins, Pelicans, boating, fishing, crabbing, beaches and lots more.

If you ever plan to visit Australia, to be precise Western Australia, then there are few places that you must put on your list. Mandurah is one of them.
